Itinerary

The architectural culture of Buenos Aires -the result of ethnic, religious and cultural rich variety- was one of the most remarkable reflections of Argentina´s formidable growth process at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th centuries. It was also a period that saw Buenos Aires undergo the transformation from a "Big Village" into a "Great European City" or "The Paris of South América".
We will explore the Retiro and San Martin Square areas, where we will find great examples of French academicism between 1890 and
1920. This kind of architecture will show us how the Nation was imagined and the way that the high class -called "oligarchy"- used to live during that period.

Leaving the hotel area, we will pass through the Alzaga Unzue Palace (Four Seasons Hotel Mansion), Ortiz Basualdo Palace ( French Embassy ), Pereda Palace ( Brazil´s Embassy)  and the Estrugamou Palace.

At the San Martin Square, we will walk around the Anchorena Palace,
Paz Palace, San Martin Monument, the Malvinas victims Monument, the Kavanagh  -the first skyscraper in South America at his inauguration-,  the Plaza Hotel and Florida Street.

We will continue to San Telmo, to the Dorrego Square where the San Telmo antique fair takes place. There will be two free hours for lunch and to explore the fair by yourselves.

After lunch we will meet again to continue our sight-seeing of the neighborhood, to see some highlights, the Ezeiza family Residence.

Then we will visit Evita Museum, at Palermo neighborhood, where we will have a private tour.

We will be back at the hotel at 6.00 pm.
